Coming back to a place, a second home so to speak after having been away for one year is a very special experience accompanied by many emotions and observations. Are things still the same? Did one fall into the trap of romanticizing the place one used to live in? What does the concept of ‘home’ mean and how easily can one switch cultural patterns?

My name is Tanja, I am a social anthropologist who studied, lived and did research in Delhi for one year during my Masters. Upon coming back to Switzerland not a single day has passed without me missing or thinking about my life in India. Therefore, I decided to “embrace the inBetween” and entangle my life further with the country for at least the next 4 years through doing a PhD on India. This podcast is a medium to document my six weeks back in Delhi where I aim to find out what is still left of the life I built here and what could be a suitable PhD topic to create a future connected to Delhi. This very first episode talks about the purpose of this podcast as well as some first impressions upon getting back to India.

This episode is available in english and german.
